We at Salford Guitar Lessons are an independent tuition studio offering expert 5 star one to one guitar lessons to the community of Salford, Manchester & all around the world!

Our journey

2015

Salford Guitar Lessons was founded by Tez Skachill.
2017

Moved teaching studio to Sentinel House in Eccles, Salford, UK.
2022

Taught 1st international online guitar lesson all the way to Australia.
2024

Having taught thousands of lessons to hundreds of students so far we're looking ahead to expand + reach more people!

Tez Skachill

Salford Guitar Lessons is founded by local professional guitarist Tez Skachill who has built up a community of students from 2015 and the business has grown from strength to strength.

Tez began his own journey with the guitar at the age of 14 and has recorded at some of the most prestigious studios in the North West. To date he’s accumulated an album + 3 EP’s of original material to his name, the first of which recorded at the age of 17!

Through gigging extensively either solo or in bands, he has a wealth of experience in key areas of musical creativity, songwriting & guitar performance. Tez is a member of the Manchester collective of poets, musicians & storytellers – We4Poets.

We had a fantastic intro to guitar lesson and Tez managed to get us playing songs within 30 mins and added some knowledge hints and tips as we went along too.  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’ve only been learning with Tez at SGL for a few months now, but I’ve never made such fast progress in such a short time. Tez is an amazing teacher; his enthusiasm and support is unmatched and really adds to each lesson. Not only are lessons fun, but they are of very high quality when it comes to the content. So far I’ve learned many techniques and songs that I hadn’t even hoped of learning in such a short time. The lessons also include relevant (and interesting) theory. I could not recommend Tez and SGL enough for anyone’s guitar learning journey.

Coming into it I wasn’t sure what to expect as I’ve never played guitar before but from start to finish Tez couldn’t have been more clear and supportive with the fundamentals that were taught.

Whilst it was a short session, I came away with learning a lot. All thanks to Tez and his teaching ability.

Just had the pleasure of doing a 2 hour guitar maintenance course with Tez at Salford Guitar Lessons, which I highly recommend for anybody that plays guitar.  You may have never changed a string or may want to take your skills to the next level  by tweaking your setup to your liking, either way you'll learn some tricks and confidence from Tez.  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Tez has an infectious enthusiasm for guitar and is a fantastic teacher. He tailors his lessons to your goals as a student. For me, arriving at SGL with a rudimentary background in guitar, Tez has helped me to develop an array of guitar techniques, and improve my understanding of the instrument so I can try to ‘play’ the instrument rather than recite memorised pieces. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone at any stage of learning guitar, newcomer or otherwise.

Where is our teaching studio located?

Our Salford Guitar Lessons teaching studio is located within Sentinel House, Eccles, Salford. We’re within close distance to Media City, Trafford Centre & the city of Manchester.

We’re a 5 minute walk from the Metro link, main bus station, train station and the M602 motorway.
